WHY DO WE CELEBRATE WORLD ELEPHANT DAY: World elephant day has been created to bring the world together to help elephants. It’s a day to honor elephants,spread awareness about the critical threats they are facing and to support positive solutions that will help ensure their survival. The day is normally 12-08 yearly( if that makes sense) HOW TO CELEBRATE:.:::: 1 post a photo of yourself holding the reason you love elephants and use the hashtag WED. (Which i did on my intagram post zawadyzawady. 2Share your Favorite Elephants stories,videos,photos and books. 3Host your own world elephants day documentary. 4Write a poem about elephants and share it. 5Sign a pledge to support an organization that protects elephants. 6Donate money to elephants organizations. MY CHILDHOOD STORIES ABOUT ELEPHANTS:::: I grew up believing in 2 things that elephants never forgets and they are afraid of mice ,,haha an elephant never forgets because the area of the brain associated with memory is large and denser than that of people and hence the saying “elephants never forgets” Elephants are afraid of mice because their fear that mice will crawl up their trunks which cause blockage,irritation and maybe making it hard for elephants to breathe well (well that’s my saying and i still believe in it) FACTS ABOUT ELEPHANTS. Elephants are mammals of the family Elephantidae and the largest existing land animal.Three species are currently recognized; 1The African bush elephant 2The African forest elephant 3The Asian elephant LENGHT: Asian elephants-5.5_6.5m GESTATION PERIOD:African bush elephant—22 months while Asian elephant is 18-22 months. LIFESPAN:African bush elephants 60-70years while Asian elephants 48years. HEIGHT::African bush elephants 3.2m while Asian elephants 2.7m. MASS:African bush elephants 6,000kgs while Asian elephants 4,000kgs. 2Their trunks have mad skills. 3Their tusks are actually teeth which help with feeding ,prising bark off trees or digging up roots. 4,They’ve got thick skin. 5,They are constantly eating because they need 150kgs of food per day. 6They communicate through vibrations. 7Calves can stand within 20 minutes of birth. I’m so determined to stop the illegal Animal trade.Its estimated 100 African elephants are killed each day by poacher seeking ivory meat and body parts leaving only 400,000 remaining. let us all protect Animals .
